Who, what and how God is, in relationship to His children

The truths of God are very simple. It is man himself that complicates the things of God. And of course, loses his way in the doing so. But some concepts are foundational to our beliefs, and our faith, and need to be always clear in our minds, that we not falter along the pathway home. Who, what and how God is, in relationship to His children and all creation, is one of those things.

Let us take an example. Joy is a woman who lives in a town called Joy, and is always in a emotional, spiritual and mental place of joy in all that she says, does, thinks and feels. Not so complicated is it? This illustrates the principle of Person, Place and Thing. See Joy is the person, Joy in the place, and joy is the thing; attitude, emotion, thoughts, and responses. It can be summed up in this example that ‘thing’ is represented by “condition”.

So when someone says they are joyful, because of Joy and living in Joy, though we have an intended play on words here, we see how this illustrates how we can see the person, place and thing (condition) of being in and of joyfulness. Let us take this example a step further.

God is our divine Father, He is also the fabric and fiber of all creation, as it says, in Him we move and have our being. Godliness is also a condition of God in action in our lives directly. So you see God is a Person, Place and Thing (Condition). When we try to separate the personage of God, whether Father, Son, or Holy Spirit, from the other aspects of God, we have diminished our relationship and His power in our lives. God remains who and what God is, it is we who have put Him in a box in our lives, and it is we who have cut off access to the greater blessings of our sonship with Him.

We must remember that God is a power of unity, and all aspects of His divinity unite all things of God. This includes us as children of God, because as a child of God we become His. This establishes not only our relationship, but also our access to the things of God in our lives. His blessings, teachings, knowledge, and yes, His corrections and admonishments as well. We become fully members in the Heavenly Family of God. And as loving children we should always be in respect, love, honesty and obedience to our Heavenly Father. This assures us that we have access to all things of God, in His person, in His place and in His condition within us, the BEING of God.

Seems like a new concept? Not really, though it may be taking a different angle of explanation to what Christ came to show us by the example of His life. His relationship with the Father was so close, we are speaking of the Son of Man in the flesh, that all things of God worked in and through Him. He established His relationship with the Father through love and obedience. It has been said that the greatest example of love is in obedience. Jesus Christ would be a shining example of that love.

So Christ’s life exhibited all aspects of the Father in His life. The miracles of healing, the knowledge of God, the authority and the power of God, all were His because He had access to all of what God is. We must take our example from our Lord, and walk as He walked, which means we should have access to all things of God also in our lives. We must not put God in a box of our human concepts and perceptions, rather believe and trust in an infinite God of infinite power IN OUR OWN LIVES. In this we accept all of what God is, in person, place and thing (condition).

If we truly believe and truly trust in God,our Father, and are truly following our Lord and Savior, in the body of Christ, then our walk is assured and our destination guaranteed. We must walk circumspectly in our relationship with God (and Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit), we must walk as citizens of the heavenly realms and we must BE as our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in all that we say, do, think and feel. We must be like Jesus. What a high calling, what a glorious reward, and what a place of power for our lives!

In the end, it is about embracing all of what God is, the person, the place and the condition. This will bring the power of God directly into our lives and change this human condition to conform to His image, His purpose and His plan for our lives. God is the final arbiter of all things (which I have said often) and the answer to all things always lie with Him. He gave us the Lord Jesus Christ as our example, and our intercessor on our behalf, that we may have a true guide and a true example of all that He is. In all things we should always endeavor to be like Him, afterall, are we not also sons and daughters of God?

Be blessed, be loved and be at peace,

Jonathan
