Just a thought about perspective. The family perspective. Those of us with children, spouses, extended and immediate families have a unique paradigm (yes, a VERY overused word) in that we have to juggle our time more than those single, or not highly interactive with their family members. If, like me, you get caught up in your work, new ventures and/or ideas, there is a tendency to be focuse on that—and just that alone.
They become a casualty if our business focus.
Now don’t get me wrong, business, and especially a new or expanding business, takes time, care and our best…

I must admit that when I first got into this online marketing game, I was bombarded with countless offers of “training”, “downloads” and getting billions and gazillions of twitter followers. If it wasn’t a “tool” it was a “product” that acted like one.
So where is the meat? Obviously you have literally thousands of people selling and REselling the same ole’ stuff! Get rich schemes packaged as home-based internet business, which they are not! Not much, if anything, is really differentiating the market! That hurts everyone…
So tell me, is ANYONE getting rich?
In a word, no, at least…

One of the most discouraging things in Media Marketing, Marketing, and whatever-you-call-it-now is the absence of real product. No, I’m not talking about everyone’s “Get Rich Now” products that virtually kill the sector, but rather the real nuts-n-bolts products you should be offering your customers. Everyone has their own take on how to GET customers, and will sell you the tools, eBook, or whatever to do the job. But notice they never talk about what you are actually selling the customer—unless you’re trying to recreate what they are doing!
Snakeoil selling snakeoil, is still, well, snakeoil!
There are some noteable…

So are you confused yet? There is Attraction Marketing, Reputation Marketing and now Relationship Marketing. Why all the buzzwords? Because it shortens the length of time to explain differing approaches of your marketing campaign.
Attraction + Reputation = Relationship
This a pretty standard formula that has been used to promote products and services since the beginning of modern marketing campaigns in the 50-60s. It really is true when they say there is nothing new under the sun. I can hear it now, been there, done that.
But what actually are we talking about? Definitions are in order.
Attraction Marketing
This…

No, I’m not talking about getting into the business of faith, (that would be an oxymoron wouldn’t it? Plus it’s already a crowded field!). What I’m speaking of is basing your business on the principles of faith. Much of the marketing and business strategies that are flooding the online community, are just simply basic tenets of the Christian faith dressed in worldly attire.
Honesty, integrity, value and customer service, the foundational principles of a successful business, are in reality foundational truths of the Christian faith. So let’s take a candid look at what this all means, and no I won’t…

You know it’s interesting to see all the software, widgets and applets that are cropping up to integrate Twitter and Facebook functionality. Either Facebook has an application, Twitter has an application, or the third-party market has an application! Everybody has an application! This begs the question “why?” Somehow it seems like these two Corsican Brothers were somehow joined at the hips, and people seem intent on keeping it that way!
Facebook is the social media or network anchor, where it is easy to make friends, at least now, and to expand that universe. Twitter is like the ongoing conversation you…

I write about Social Media Advertising and such, because as far as online marketing, PR, and advertising dollars go, social networks are the 800 lb gorilla in the room. Gone are the days that you could drive massive amounts of traffic just using SEO methods, to gain a higher pagerank than your competition. Don’t get me wrong, SEO is still a key component in traffic building—just no longer the Holy Grail of marketing online.
To bolster this posit, besides the myriad pundits shouting this from the rooftops, is a link I found while viewing my twitter feed. It is posted…

I get the iMedia Connection newsletter almost everyday via email. It is a great resource that anyone in the affiliate marketing, product marketing and/or social media p/r circles should read. Not a fly-by-night operation iMedia Connection positions itself as “connecting the marketing community” and it’s articles, resources and information is geared just for that.
The current article on DIY (do-it-yourself) Social Media is a good example of the depth of resources available there. The writers are definitely “plugged-in” to the marketing space, and there information is both sound and applicable in…

So, you have a great product, opportunity, or business, now how do you get people to come look at what you have to offer? Sure, SEO, Search Engine Optimization, has been the foundation of a good marketing campaign for years, it’s the first place marketers have looked to, to promote and sell—but I’m telling you, all that has changed. And for good. What do I mean? Well, a funny thing happened on the way to the web, and it’s called social media!
What is social media?
Well, of course for those reading this article it probably doesn’t need to be defined,…

So many people that are caught up in this economic downturn are wondering what their financial future will be. Housing, banking, et al, is being “Federalized” right before our eyes.
We are witnessing the effort to “socialize” our country’s economic backbone and put the reigns of power directly into the hands of the government. It reminds us that government is not altruistic, it is out for itself completely.
We have lost the battle, but the war is still on!
Philosophy aside, what does this mean for the average American Joe or Jane? What can “we the people” do to either…
